We’re a group of researchers, strategists, and architects with a combined 20+ years of hands-on experience in NC, SC, and NY. Our practice is efficient and thorough — we listen, ask questions, and we listen again. Our aim is to facilitate human connection through inclusive spaces.
We are local, transparent, and purposeful.
We specialize in residential architecture and design varying in styles from modern to transitional and everything between.
We are Friend.
We are intentionally small to allow us to focus on high quality design in a holistic approach, both architecturally and through interiors.
Caroline Edwards, AIA
Caroline earned her Bachelor of Architecture from Pratt Institute. Prior to co-founding Friend, she worked for two New York based design firms specializing in high-end residential and a local Winston-Salem firm where she focused on modern residential as well as small to mid-sized commercial projects. Caroline is a registered Architect in North Carolina and New York and a member of the AIA.
When Caroline isn’t architecting, she can be found yee-hawin at Lil Farm.
Nisha Mary Prasad, RA
Nisha was born and raised in Queens, NY. She earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from N.Y.I.T. and a Master of Architecture + Urban Design from Columbia University. Prior to co-founding Friend, Nisha worked from Manhattan to Miami specializing in high end commercial architecture and interior design and most recently practiced as a sole proprietor in Winston Salem at NM Design Collab. Nisha has also spent the past ten years teaching design and visualization courses both at N.Y.I.T. and most recently at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Nisha is a registered Architect in New York and North Carolina.
Nisha may have been born with her heart on the wrong side, but it’s always in the right place. #dextrocardia
