The Dutch Light is new cocktail bar that overlooks Bailey Park in Innovation Quarter and is set to open this Fall. Inspired by Dutch art and architecture, the bar's design transforms the former Reynolds tobacco plant, originally featuring concrete, metal, and glass. Friend's design approach focused on softening these industrial elements with warmth and texture. By prioritizing the consumer experience and incorporating greenery, herbs, and flowers, the design pays tribute to the site's rich history while promoting a "greener" future. The central bar and supporting millwork are designed around existing skylights, optimizing views throughout the space.
